Years ago, we met a 13 year old boy in Uganda who was orphaned, living on the streets, and fighting just to survive. My wife and I began supporting him, eventually becoming his legal guardians. We helped him go to school, poured into him through sports, and watched his life completely transform.
Today, he is married, has two children, and is now leading a sports ministry impacting over 100 kids: all of whom are living in extreme poverty, without access to basic necessities like running water, toilets, or even shoes.
Next week, our son Zachary is traveling to Uganda to support this work, bringing bags filled with soccer balls, cleats, equipment, and goodies for the family…much needed items that open the door to hope, transformation, and also encouragement.
But this is about more than a trip.
We are believing to purchase land this year-a permanent place where these kids can gather, train, and grow. A field they don’t have to leave. A place where we can build showers (something many of them have never experienced), create space for discipleship, and establish long-term stability.
If you’ve ever experienced the power of sports-you know it can change everything.
We’re asking you to be part of that transformation!
Initially, we are raising funds to cover the cost of the trip, including bringing checked bags filled with soccer equipment and essential supplies for the kids. We also hope to bless the local staff and coaches—many of whom faithfully serve these children while earning less than $30 a month in their other jobs—and purchase additional needed items once in Uganda.
We have less than a week to raise these funds, and the need is urgent. Would you consider supporting this trip and being part of what God is doing in the lives of these children?
